Hypnum Moss

Hypnum moss is a type of Sheet Moss that grows in a dense sheet across soil and rock and has a light green color. The creeping stems form the mat structure, which are then covered in overlapping leaves – giving the appearance of a cypress tree (hence one of the nicknames). This moss grows differently in aquariums. the underwater growth tends to be more vertical and thinner, looking kinda like java moss. When grown in terrarium the growth form does not change. Moss is the best way to make aquariums and terrariums look vibrant and natural. They add so much texture, colour and contrast. The fact that they have no roots or water vessels means they tend to like high humidity and a consistent water supply – which makes them great for closed terrariums and aquariums. They not only like high humidity, but they really help to stabilise humidity too. So your other tropical plants will love them. In addition to enhancing the aesthetics of a freshwater aquarium, mosses provide a number of other benefits. For example, mosses contribute to improved water quality by absorbing nitrates and other nutrients from the water column. Be sure to add springtails to your terrarium to help keep the plants clean and mold free, we also have them if you would like to add them to your cart!!
